There is technical problems at the beginning so you have to sit through a song and a bit of silence but the show after is a bit of psychology and then then two opposing sides of parents and the game Grand Theft Auto. Listen and give me your opinions!
I saw a tweet on twitter about the new TweetDeck and had to check it out. I was not committed to download it till I started to read what it could mean to my life. I decided to give it a try and boy was I glad I did! 2 days after I downloaded it my computer started to act up and I was having difficulty getting into my ECMP 355 Blog. I got on twitter (because it is the best way to get ahold of Mr. Shareski) and started to tweet away. I was sending out questions about my blog and decided to open TweetDeck in the background to see if I would like it or delete it from my system. All the sudden I have @suewaters popping up on my computer screen. I was working on my Critical Theory paper at the time.
I opened the pop up and started talking to Sue who is the Edublog community faciliator. I just sent out my help request into twitter world and low and behold via the TweetDeck I’m getting one on one help! I am sold. I do not have to stop and check my twitter account while I’m working on something. I watch for the tweets that pertain to me and disregard the rest.
Other ways TweetDeck could be useful is if you are checking your facebook site a lot for your friends status updates or wall posts. It is like your own personal e-mail service.
TweetDeck is listed in the @rww Top 10 Consumer Apps of 2009
I would really like my Social Networking Wiki to come up in the Google search and have tried to tag my name on some of my pages but no go. If I cannot get transferred to the University of Regina Wiki I will transfer everything myself so to get more hits. When asked if I am ashamed about anything that is posted of me on the Internet, I do not have anything that I am ashamed of because I am always very careful of what I do as I want my Integrity in Words to be transferred to my On-Line Identity. I also pay very close attention to my grammar, my spelling, and the cleanliness of my posts.
In the future I will be getting a domain name as soon as I am well into my Grad Classes and have more to showcase. I will also find ways to get some of my humanity blogs to be seen in my searches.

Final projects, studying, final papers getting you down? Take a brake and make an elf movie!!! I haven’t laughed this hard for a very long time!! This is me and my kids, Enjoy…
We had three guest speakers/presenters for our ECMP 355 on-line class on Wed, November 18th.
1st Darren Kuropatwa, a math teacher shares my preferred teaching style of watch it, do it, and then teach it. My favorite assignments in my adult education classes are our presentations. We pick groups, pick a subject, research it, and then present it to our fellow learners. I will also be using the idea of one person a day summarizing what was taught from the lesson and then compiling all summaries together for a textbook for each participant. I am going to be starting a non-profit organization which will be a healing community. This concept will enable the participants to reflect on the teachings of the day and add personal refection. The finished product will be beautiful. I will forever give thanks for this great idea!
2nd Kathy Cassidy, a grade one teacher centered her time with us around unmasking 5 myths about teaching primary students. The myths were as follows: Its easier to teach primary students then older students, Grade one’s are too young to use technology, primary students should only use paper and pencil, children plus the internet equal unsafe, and children learn best from their teacher. What I will take away from Kathy’s time with us is her diligence in keeping the parents of her students involved in their on-line process. I will transfer her idea to keeping the families of the participants involved and up to date via blogging. The participants will blog and I will comment and add to their personal reflections.
3rd Clarence Fisher, a middle school teacher was the last presenter. I really appreciated his sense of community. Clarence uses social networking in the form of blogs and a classroom wiki. He does not delete the wiki, which I am definitely going to do either. I feel that the collected knowledge that resonates in each wiki is a gift that takes a whole year to make! To delete it would be to me, madness.
I enjoyed hearing the passion and also hearing how the technology that we are learning to utilize in our class is being used in a real life setting. It is nice to have different perspectives from different types of teachers, even if they are for children and teenagers!
